Baby Wipe, Wipe Off Challenge!

Baby Wipe Challenge

Baby Wipe Challenge

Hello Mummies and Daddies. For this week’s challenge, I have put some wipes up against each other in our BABY WIPE, WIPE OFF CHALLENGE!

I initially used real baby poop (sponsored generously by my son who is 6m old). There wasn’t enough poop to do the test for all the wipes in one day, so i had to do it over 3 different days and i recorded down all the results. I have also decided to video similar experiment with nutella in place of the poop (I didnt want to upset certain more conservative parents who might be watching this video).

I used 2 tablespoons of poop and smeared it on the inside of my arm (where your elbow is at the crease) because i feel that the skin there is delicate and somewhat resembles a baby bum when i bend my arm in half. I recorded how many wipes it took to completely wipe the poop off, how my skin feels after the wipe and how my arm smells like after the wipe.

1) HUGGIES NATURAL BABY WIPES (green pack)
*Cost – $10.95 (3x80s)
*One Hand System – Failed
*Smell – strong smell, i cant quite put in words what it smells like but its strong and either you like it, or you dont. i dont. -.-
*Texture – Thick
*Softness – 8
*Wetness – 8
*Smoothness – 7
*3 wipes to clean off the poop
*Overall i didnt like the Huggies wipes as i wasnt a big fan of the smell. However it is soft and wet so im pretty sure its gentle on the baby’s skin (im using the rest of the pack right now on my son and he seems fine). I felt ok after the 3 wipes and the area on my skin felt clean.

2)PIGEON BABY WIPE (red pack thailand)
*Cost – $9.85 (3x82s)
*One Hand System – Passed
*Smell – Light pleasant smell.
*Texture – Thin
*Softness – 7
*Wetness – 5
*Smoothness – 7
*2 wipes to clean off the poop
*Overall i like that my skin felt refreshing after the wipe and i liked that the smell was light and not too strong. I do feel that this wipe may not suit babies who has really sticky poop, cause its not very wet. too difficult to wipe off the stubborn poop off unless you use alot of strength which will hurt babies bum. ):

3) JAPANESE WATER WIPES 99.9% (pink pack)
*Cost – $9.99 (3x80s)
*One Hand System – Passed
*Smell – No smell
*Texture – very thin
*Softness – 6
*Wetness – 4
*Smoothness – 5
*2 wipes to clean off the poop
*Overall i like this wipe. Its not for cleaning poop off baby’s bum. This is a messy time hand and mouth wipe which is 99.9% water based. My skin felt clean and soft after the wipe. I use it all the time when my son eats, latches and drools. Its really easy, handy and safe. Its completely scentless and you can flush the sheets down the toilet bowl. Its an essential item in my babybag. smile emoticon

4) DAISO BABY WIPE (red pack with baby under towel)
*Cost – $2.00 (1x105s)
*One Hand System – Passed
*Smell – Light smell.
*Texture – Thin
*Softness – 6
*Wetness – 6
*Smoothness – 6
*2 wipes to clean off the poop
*Overall i feel that this wipe does the job. I feel that if you are a mummy or daddy on a budget, this is a pretty good choice for your baby (especially if your baby poops alot). My skin felt fine after the wipe. I think it could be a useful wipe for mummies and daddies to have just in your bag for general purposes (cleaning table, chair, seats etc.).

5) JOHNSONS BABY WIPES (pink pack)
*Cost – $5.70 (1x80s)
*One Hand System – Failed
*Smell – Very good smell, i heart emoticon it!
*Texture – Thick
*Softness – 8
*Wetness – 8
*Smoothness – 8
*1 wipe to clean off the poop
*Overall this wipe is good but i find that if you are in a hurry or have no hands, you’ll end up just wasting alot of wipes. The wipes are pretty wet so they tend to stick together unless you buy the travel pack (30s). My skin felt soft and moisturized after the wipe and smelled like a clean happy baby (i just love the smell, hence the word happy). A good wipe to use if you have a helper or hubby pulling out wipes for you slowly.

6) WATSON NICKELODEON BABY WIPES
*Cost – $2 (1x70s)
*One Hand System – Pass
*Smell – Terrible smell, smells like vomit.
*Texture – stretchy and thin
*Softness – 4
*Wetness – 6
*Smoothness – 4
*2 wipes to clean off the poop
*Overall NOT A GOOD WIPE AT ALL. My skin rashed up after the wipe and turned red. waste of my money. could have done better things with the $2 (buy diaso wipes).

7) NUK BABY WIPES
*Cost – $10.50 (3x80s)
*One Hand System – Passed
*Smell – No smell
*Texture – Very Thick
*Softness – 6
*Wetness – 6
*Smoothness – 7
*2 wipes to clean off the poop
*Overall it feels like a wet cloth. I feel its too thick and smooth that it smears the poop around when i was trying to wipe it. My skin felt sticky after the wipe and the skin didnt feel very clean.

8) PIGEON WET NAPS (white pack)
*Cost – $4.90 (5x10s)
*One Hand System – Passed for travel pack
*Smell – smells like alcohol
*Texture – thin
*Softness – 8
*Wetness – 6
*Smoothness – 7
*3 wipes to clean off the poop
*Overall i think it really soft. it felt softer than the red pack of pigeon wipes but im pretty sure there is alcohol in this wipes. my skin felt cool and tingly after the wipe. I personally wouldnt use it on my baby’s bum just because i felt the tingly sensation which could cause rashes in babies with sensitive skin.
